Neofeud is a brilliant ride. Video games can not only be a vessel to escape reality, but can also force players to confront and engage with reality, and this is what Neofeud does. There is some text-heavy criticism of this game, but | personally really enjoyed this approach. | found the gameplay to be a satisfying combination of demonstration and commentary, and while the commentary was heavier, it was so immersive and thought out that | am glad it was not cut down. | laughed at times and felt immensely infuriated at times, given the parallels of injustice in our world highlighted by the game creator. This is the kind of storytelling and world- building richness | crave in games. Neofeud explored the depths that makes up our capitalist reality and I found the game to be a multi-dimensional representation of Marx's Das Kapital. It is received as a labor of love, one that speaks to the cultural references of our generation. Logistic-gameplay-wise, | appreciate the length of the game given how heavy some of the ‘world-building and material was.
