John Naughton argues that we are currently experiencing the 'morbid symptoms' of a Gramscian interregnum; the period Antonio Gramsci described between the collapse of the old order and the (as yet delayed) birth of the new.

I've always had a lot of time for Gramsci's ideas (indeed when a functioning academic I was sometimes referred to as a neo-Gramscian) & think that Naughton is right on the button with this analysis.

Well worth 5mins of your time!

@ChrisMayLA6

Perhaps someone doesn't know Gramsci but everyone should know this quote:

“The old world is dying, and the new world struggles to be born; now is the time of monsters.”
— Antonio Gramsci
