The United States moved on Friday to dismantle a "burdensome" federal program that tracks greenhouse gas emissions across the U.S. economy. https://www.japantimes.co.jp/environment/2025/09/13/climate-change/us-scraps-emissions-reporting/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=mastodon #environment #climatechange #us #donaldtrump #emissions #climatechange #pollution

@thejapantimes Individual CO2 emissions are a “nice to know” but it is the total amount in the atmosphere that matters for climate. By all accounts we have put enough in there now to overshoot 1.5C towards 2C. Time for all of us to stop expecting our severely broken political system to address climate. We have to get together and collectively act. We know what we have to do.

"Burdensome", only for those who wish to pollute the air to maximise profits.

Not a single citizen is burdened by this regulation, only companies.
