Thanks to a helpful interaction here, I reached out to the local human rights taskforce to see if there's anything they can do, at least on Facebook to combat the abuse apologia. The people on the taskforce are very knowledgeable about local politics, so if there's anything else that can be done, they'll know what to do. That felt safe enough for me to do.
