@rowyn And that difference stems from the differences in their characters, because Jinu's shame was an expression of genuine guilt (he never cared so much about the demon patterns in themselves, for instance) while Rumi's shame was simply for who she was, for all they connected over the experience of shame. Jinu needed to atone for his wrongs and free himself while Rumi needed to accept herself and learn to trust, hence their different endings and why a conventional "happily ever after" was never in the cards for them.
