@beep This reminds me of the 1960s comic book villain trope where a Lex Luthor type would build a giant robot that wrecks half of downtown so that he can rob a bank. And, like, if that was the point, and the technology was sound, then he'd be home quietly amassing a fortune for himself instead of making an ass of himself threatening people...

I've worked my entire adult life: over 15000 days straight without unemployment. In all those days I've always been a doer, not a director - even when the job was being a director. I'm very hands on. I still don't know what it is about those who cannot do anything that gets them all on the same wagon shouting, "This will revolutionize the thing I could never do and really don't understand!" The best explanation I've heard for this type of mob mentality is, "They don't know what they don't know."
