Thinking some more about all the mobile devices getting replaced in Aotearoa (and maybe elsewhere?) because they're not fully compatible with 4G calling. I wonder how difficult it would be to combine 2 of them and make a single clamshell device?

It would need a hinged case, a way to entangle 2 mobile OS, and probably a custom window manager to enable apps to use both touchscreens in different ways. Eg;

* messaging; one for typing on the soft keyboard, one for everything else

* media player; one for controls, one for media.

* maps: spread across both?

I'm keen to try this, because if it works, I might be able to use a similar approach to combine an e-ink reader and a standard touchscreen device into a multi-tool clamshell.
