Sandra and I have been using XMPP - using @snikket_im - for nearly all our messages and calls for two years now.
Doesn't time fly when you are having fun.
It has been as stable as anything, and we use it across iOS, Android, and Linux.
I switched it to a tiny VM recently, and it is still fine.

unsolicited suggestion: if you could add links to the software you use that'd be nice. (Especially when browsing on mobile)
I tried finding the link to snikket and I couldn't. (I woke up not long ago so that's my excuse if you did) :)

Thats great! Could you, please tell the brands of the Android devices you use? I have bad experience on Xiaomi, Huawei. Sometimes Samsung and Motorola. All exceptions are done, so the App could stay alive. But often when the phone roams through wifi/gsm networks, it takes hours to reconnect.
