@cstross, I heard that story this morning too and… had much the same reaction. I had to listen carefully to be sure that I'd heard it right.
@cstross UPDATE: Apparently it's the day for it. Marjorie Taylor Greene just became the first Republican Congressperson to describe Israel’s actions in Gaza as "genocide”.
@cstross the word my late mother-in-law used was “catsfarty” - but she rarely used any really bad language! Miss her loads!
@cstross Anyone who hangs around with #Israel’s ambassador is in no position to opine about Child Protection #JustSaying#OnlineSafetyAct.
@cstross Is there a German word for “an opinion so stupid and reprehensible that even the worst people you know will disagree with it, thus putting normal human beings in an awkward position”?
@cstross it's okay— he doesn't really mean it
@fishidwardrobe Farage is basically shitposting to upset Labour (and the Tories, but he's already got them on the run)
I partially agree with this specific statement of Farage... but apologizing will certainly not be enough to be "the right thing".
Peter Kyle's statement is simple, he is right there, but also plainly wrong.
@cstross I like that you could be talking about either of them here and I don't want a clarification.

@cstross - as the number of assholes in power increases, the chance that one will correctly point out flaws in another grows quadratically. In the US that's almost all we have left to enjoy.
@cstross How to pick a side...
@cstross My branes just exploded
@cstross
It does happen!
I suspect Farage is eyeing Silicon Valley cash not
'libertarian' principle
