Ended up doing a quick evening ride at one of the closer trails to my house and did a test record with an external mic. Sounds so much better! More bike/trail sounds and less heavy breathing. 馃槄 This trail has a lot of really fun features. @pfernandes mounted on my helmet just under the visor. Chest pov is good too, but I feel like the head doubles as an extra gimbal and sweat/mud doesn鈥檛 find its way on the lens. And you always see where im looking.
@mark I think the chest mount, in my case, is the spot that gets the best sensation of high speed.
@pfernandes yea that鈥檚 probably true being closer to the ground. Chin mount is probably the best of both worlds, but I don鈥檛 want to wear a full face helmet if I don鈥檛 have to. 馃檪
@mark for many years I did it wear a full face. Now, I can鈥檛 ride without one 馃槂
@pfernandes Your trails are probably a bit more gnarly than the ones I have in my area. 馃檪 No mountains here so it's hard to get above around 22mph or so at the fastest. Also summers are humid and 95-105 degrees (fahrenheit) so I'd probably faint in a full face. I do wear one anytime I hit bigger jumps or ride somewhere with more elevation/steeper grades.
