#Listening to the Dirty Pets EP by Penny Diving;

This reminds me of fuzzpop pioneers of the nineties and early noughties, like The Breeders, Belly, and Mazzy Star. In some ways, these bands were among the US counterparts of the UK shoegaze scene. But like The Breeders, Dirty Pets has a bit of artpunk Pixies and Sonic Youth influence thrown in there too.

#ShowerThoughts: Isn't an EP really an "albumette"?

I mean, they're not really "Extended Play", are they, compared to a full album ("LP" or "Long Play"). They are compared to a single ("SP"), I guess. So if a record is just a single with more B side tracks (remixes, covers, demos etc), then sure, call it an EP.

But if it's a collection of properly-recorded songs, like an album, but with a shorter runtime? That's an albumette. Or an albumlet (like an applet). Or an albumella (like novella)?
