Tobin Heath hasn't played in years but her retirement still hurts. Even before I followed women's soccer, the #uswnt and the #nwsl I knew who she was. My first soccer shirt was a Tobin Heath shirt. One of the most technically gifted players to ever play the game. Glad we still get her analysis and commentary through the re-cap show.

Okay so in looking for clips I found this little short of Croix Bethune, Jaedyn Shaw and Trinity Rodman talking about how they looked up to Tobin Heath. Three of the most creative, technical players of the next generation being inspired by the the OG -- if there's ever going to be a more technically gifted player than Tobin in the USA it might be one of those three.
This is a good clip reel, although some of the clips are real potato quality - for most of Tobin's career women's sports just didn't get the kind of production quality they deserved.
Christen reads Tobin a letter from Abby Wambach:
"I tried really hard to get into your headspace...to maybe try and connect in a deeper dimension of existence. Because honestly I think that's where you went when you played... I don't know. But where you went, I wanted to go."
This, from the all time leading American goal-scorer, and second highest goal scorer in world history (male or female) - one of the greatest players to ever play the game.
