Is anyone keeping a list of the community-driven organisations nuked under this government? 3 more to add to the list;

OMG Tech: itp.nz/techblog/griffin-on-tec

Evolve Peer Support Trust (Waikato): givealittle.co.nz/org/evolve-p

TohaToha: linkedin.com/posts/tohatoha-nz

That last was defunded by InternetNZ, but I suspect this was a result of them losing public funding and having to reduce their outgoings. Anyone know?

@byroncclark?

Here's another community organisation that's lost funding under this regime, this one a youth-focused support service. Supporting STEM education even!

"Ōtara Youth Hub, which E Tū Whānau had funded for the past three years, provided local rangatahi with a safe and creative environment for career support, music production, mentoring, and cultural activities, even enabling some young people to attend NASA Space Camp and the Dubai Expo."

Same, soz. But I do know that one of the people involved in Tohatoha was a former member of internetnz and had challenged their systemic racism.eading to the review that gives us the David Harvey activism. I can see that there are joint statements which implies a degree of common purpose, but I do suspect a degree of white fragility.

I'd be surprised if there wasn't. Tech politics has been a broad church for a long time, including a lot of sheltered, right-leaning men. I remember David Farrar (Mr KiwiBlog) on a panel at the only NetHui I've been to.

But in recent years a lot of pressure has built up on the fault lines between the factions. Responses to this govt can't really be neutral, so it's reaching breaking point in a lot of organisation.
