#figma folks, any of you switch to Penpot recently? I love the Penpot team and have used it myself personally but curious if any of you are on teams that have migrated to it?

I used to love #Penpot and still want to love it. Pushed for it a few times, but after years of many people asking, *it still cannot make a simple page that scrolls* (I'd love to be wrong, please show me how to do it!).

So sadly no, it looks like our priorities are not aligned. Will have to wait a few more years. :/

@scottjenson I’m still waiting for the new wasm renderer, as even slightly larger projects felt really sluggish

@scottjenson I’ve tried a couple of times, but it’s not ready yet. The vector tools are sub-par and the performance isn’t good enough for large projects. I’ll give it another shot when the new rendering engine is released. 😊

@scottjenson honestly, I've tried, but I don't find it usable. Figma was clunky, but Penpot was clunky *and* janky.

I keep popping into it as they seem to update frequently, but it doesn't hold.

Of course these days, I try to eschew Figma altogether as much as possible. Either I want faster/lower resolution (ie sketches), or I want to draw the fucking owl (ie, code).

@scottjenson we just started to use it. It's nice but has some gaps and ux issues. But definitely has potential. I think you need to use it in conjunction with inkscape.

@sri that's a surprising statement. Why inkscape? Internal pen tool not up to the job?

@scottjenson I think it's because I have some issues understanding the flow and the tools so I end up doing some of it in inkscape because I understand it better.

Amother issue is at times penpot will crash but luckily no loss of work. I've been using it to see how we can use it in #gnome.
