I'd say that's because of predatory businesses setting out to use the application web ("Web 2.0") to kill the document web. Which is why people building the protocol-based social web are out to kill the dominance of predatory business.

@strypey @nilaypatel The "document web" is not growing as fast.

The "commercial " web is growing as people come on line and phones made it the centre of their lives.

The "Free Internet" (my phrase) is still there, still the same, open for innovation

The big danger is ISPs getting paid to not only favour "Comercial Web" packets, but to drop all others.

Facebook has tried a blatent grab for that power in India and South America but failed, that time
