I haven't spoken about Michael in the last few months...not because things aren't good. They're actually great. We're about 18 months into our relationship, and it keeps getting better. He's healing slowly from the emotional and psychological damage he suffered at the hands of his former husband and his caregivers growing up. Growing into himself. He makes me so proud and happy.
He also makes me believe in my own...well...beauty. His desire is unwavering and unending, and he's never shy about telling me that.
*I wore a knee-length skirt last night, to potentially stand in front of 800 people on a stage*. Not the sort of garment one often sees on a fat woman nearing 60. But I rocked that damn skirt, and other women said so. I did that because Michael helped me believe I could do it.
Telling you...get yourself a trans man who loves you, you trans women who are attracted to men. All of the man, with WAY less of the toxic masculinity (this can vary, of course, no group is flawless). You can each make the other very happy.
Michael does things like show me ways to style my hair that he was taught, which I never was. I can show him how to shave quickly and effectively. We have knowledge each other can make use of.
And we complement one another well. We're both intelligent and curious, and enjoy talking about deep topics. He reminds me how much I hated being a boy, just by his joy in it, and that is a gift too. It tells me I did the right thing.
I feel very lucky to have found such an awesome guy.
