It sounded like some people were giving the new influx of Twitter refugees a hard time so I thought I'd try to be more welcoming. We could all use some support right now.

I'm a trainer, and when people show up late to a training, I don't chastise them for being late. I let them know I'm grateful that they came at all.

Also, I was reminded of some nice features of Mastodon and the Fediverse thanks to an obnoxious post:
- Muting people (they can still interact but you won’t see them. This can also be set to temporary.)
- Blocking people
- Filtering out words and hashtags you don’t want to see. So if you like someone’s posts but you don’t want to see anything about hockey, it will hide those posts.
