Janet is prematurely obsolete

Ed Yong explains the most life-limiting aspect of my illness(es).

A "Read Me" for anybody getting to know me now. Pinning to my profile.

Fatigue Can Shatter A Person

ED YONG
Alexis Misko’s health has improved enough that, once a month, she can leave her house for a few hours. First, she needs to build up her energy by lying in a dark room for the better part of two days, doing little more than listening to audiobooks. Then she needs a driver, a quiet destination.
The Atlantic

Fatigue Can Shatter a Person

Everyday tiredness is nothing like the depleting symptom that people with long COVID and ME/CFS experience.

Ed Yong is a hero for explaining LC and ME to a mass audience.

But there are other heroes. Cort Johnson of HealthRising has provided an indispensible service to the #MECFS community. I learned this week he blogs and runs the site from the van that he lives in (!)

And David Tuller of UC Berkeley School of Journalism has done valuable work unmasking the medical gaslighting, abuse and pseudoscience bullshit the ME community has endured for decades.

And ofc MEAction is an important source of community and information. I rate their Wiki.
