I'm reaching the age where people don't believe that the things I vaguely remember from my childhood ever existed.

A consumer-level vacuum tube tester. It is an electronic device that looks like it's from the 1960s or 70s. There is a sign up top saying "RCA Electron Tubes ... TUBE TESTING". There is a panel with approx 40 different sockets for plugging in electron tubes, and an electronic meter with a needle above the panel. On a shelf below the panel there are about a dozen boxes about 1"x1"x3" containing replacement tubes for people to buy.
