Can confirm: SC 2 works perfectly fine on Linux via Steam.
I'm perfectly well aware that we're not supposed to like companies. But damn I owe a lot to Steam's willingness to invest into Linux gaming.
Also, just finished playing a few custom battles with all three SC2 races. Granted, via very easy AI, but still, it was fun.

I watched a couple YouTube videos playing through the Starcraft 2 and Warcraft 3 campaigns this weekend, and:
1) The bells tolling in Warcraft's Human campaign ending cinematic still send chills down my spine.
2) My god Blizzards storytelling in those games is amazing.
3) The battle.net installer works through Steam on Linux, and I'm currently downloading Starcraft 2
I'm seeing a playthrough of all 3 SC2 campaigns in my immediate future. 😃
