Well that was disappointing.
I was getting excited to try and fix the problem of my #Synology #DS216 NAS crashing when trying to use rsync, by using the great guide here: https://blog.fedorov.com.au/, to see if I could replace the memory with a bigger DIMM.....

Got it all apart, then it turns out "v1.0" of the motherboard doesn't have a DIMM slot - all the RAM must be soldered on 馃槶

His guide shows "v1.1" on the motherboard, and the model is a "DS216+" instead.

Restarting the rsync doesn't really help, as it will only transfer a few 10s of GBs at a time before crashing again.
I will have to find a better backup solution...
