Trump touts his efforts to make things affordable at McDonald's summit
This address, coming close on the heels of Donald Trump's announcement of his intention to meet with #MayorMamdani, tells us that he is concerned that he will decisively lose any lingering association with "affordability" he may currently enjoy...and that #ZohranMamdani is forging a plausible counter-association of his own.
He was Candidate Trump back then. And he wanted to connect with working class voters on affordability issues. One year later, as Democrats swept races nationally in November focusing on affordability issues, Trump sought to highlight his own attempts at reining in inflation and highlighting his love for McDonald's, a working class staple.
With this development, I think it is time to roll out a new hashtag:
