different way than we are.
I am obsessed with this tree.
I want to return when the temperature changes flips the growth switch and leaves pop from its hair branches. Leaves "know" when to grow by detecting changes in the length of daylight hours (photoperiod) and temperature, which signals the arrival of spring, prompting them to break dormancy and begin new growth from buds that were formed during the previous growing season.
Most leaf growing plants contain a molecule called phytochrome, which
acts as a sensor for light duration, allowing them to perceive changes in day length and trigger leaf growth. The ecosystem is entangled, the sensors we have for our sweat, our heat receptors, our saliva making...depending on what, they can work in similar ways...we are not so different. #Tree #System #Society #Senses #Ecology #Reimagining
