Well that was a good episode. It was cool to revisite the old movie. It didn't need to be a cameo, but it led to interesting discussion. The downside of this is that it somewhat make Star Trek about its legendary character, which I think is unfortunate.

One of the good thing about TNG, D9 and Voyager is that they happen in the same time period. (Yes TNG is solo for 7 seasons, but the rest follow soon after)

It makes you feel that Picard wasn't the only great captain of his time, by opposition to TOS when even when Sulu become a captain, he is still a tier bellow Kirk. ( I mean the way he is presented )

I like the story told about Tuvok making this carrier choices himself and reconsidering is own choice. I think it was ultimately good for him to resign from Starfleet and then going back an his own term. This should be normal. Society should allow for that kind of life decisions.

Tuvok being a jugemental Vulcan, accusing Human of pushing human values onto him. It's probably true, but the Vulcan are the dominante culture in this dynamique and they do rant a lot about human not being as logical as they are.

It's cute but... Wouldn't he have more connection with Chakote ? Sure he was a Starfleet spy, but they still had a strong captain/second relationship, and it could have been a good way to talk about it and the current alliance of Maquis and Federation people.

It's a missed opportunity, but maybe it was on purpose because they didn't want to talk about any of that.

Well, relatively speaking.

(I still plan on watching Star Trek: First Contact without waiting any milestone on voyager, but it probably won't be at noon... )
(Also I will get beck to DS9 at some point, but since I got them on DVD the logistic is also a bit différent. (I tend to watch one DVD(4 episodes) full in on go.)
