Looks like there's been some corporate shitfuckery going on in the community for the Ruby programming language used by Mastodon (Ruby-on-Rails) and a few other fediverse software projects. Leading to a new Ruby Gem repository run as a democratic co-op;
At least that's what I presume based on the .coop, which has careful caretakers checking applications to use it.
The prospect of fashy RubyGems.org/Ruby Central getting displaced by a literal coop with a .coop domain name ( https://gem.coop ) is beyond entertaining for me. I am so excited. LFG
