ELRIC DEMONSLAYER (1980)
Acrylic on Panel - 24” x 16”

This was my second time around on The Vanishing Tower by Michael Moorcock. The first was titled URISH’S BANE. 1/2

#fantasy #fantasyart #sff #illustration #michaelmoorcock #elric #stormbringer #archivalpress

At the base of a spiral staircase, Elric stands over a green scaled demon. He draws back the long blade of Stormbringer in a two-handed grip. A black trail of motion can be seen at the end of the blade as it begins to sweep overhead and down for a killing blow. His clothes are torn to shreds and blood trails down the pure white skin of his chest and thigh. The demon bears its fans and it’s fore claws grip Elric’s leg
