@abulling @tim True. Thanks. I will have a look. I see there is a home assistant integration but that requires you to have their app installed on your phone to setup cameras. Is this also needed when using LAN (cable) connection? There is no other way (default web interface) to set them up? i dont want to install some random apps just to get the camera to connect to my local network. If the cameras provide by default wifi/lan connection and web interface to set this up i would exactly what I’m looking for.
@muppeth @tim They definitely have cameras for which you need the app at least for the initial setup/configuration (to provide Wifi credentials etc). Afterwards the app is not needed any more and the video streams also do not go to their servers.

We have a #reolink with PPPoE that you can simply connect via cable - no app was needed as far as I remember. But I don't know their whole product portfolio. They might have multiple/different of those even.

@tim Security cameras: #reolink Also fully local and great integration for #homeassistant

At least here in #Europe also IKEA sells various #smarthome devices (speakers etc) that seem to be quite good and locally controllable (and reasonably priced). But I am personally not using any of them.

I keep adding cool/interesting integrations for #homeassistant here:
