AEO : https://www.linkedin.com/posts/evalacalle_not-long-ago-most-of-our-traffic-came-from-activity-7378510283843047424-qW8l
GEO : https://www.linkedin.com/posts/fredericdegombert_openai-just-upgraded-chatgpt-with-shopping-activity-7323366798656012289-42SN

That’s a huge shift from his past… | Fred de Gombert | 25 comments

OpenAI just upgraded ChatGPT with shopping features — and in a recent interview, Sam Altman said he's now open to “tasteful” advertising (like affiliate links). That’s a huge shift from his past “absolutely no ads” stance. If OpenAI doesn’t build an ads business (yet), GEO — Generative Engine Optimization — will become the next gold rush for brands and retailers. But unlike SEO, this one’s pure chaos: - No rules - No rankings - No idea if your product shows up or not - No one to call when it doesn’t 🤷‍♂️ For Product Experience specialists, this is massive: Your product data isn’t just for websites or marketplaces anymore — it’s what fuels these AI assistants. If it’s not structured, complete, and enriched properly, you’ll be invisible to the next generation of shopping. And if it is? You might just influence the AI that influences the buyer. Welcome to the fun new world of PXM meets AI. GEO is coming. And it's going to be wild. | 25 comments on LinkedIn

What… | Eva Lacalle Galvez

Not long ago, most of our traffic came from Google search (SEO). But things are changing and today, more and more people start their journey in ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Claude instead (AEO). What are the opportunities and challenges that we need to think about? 1. If you want to show up in AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) you need to optimize your content according to the answer the users are expecting. 2. The traffic coming from this channels is lower, but guess what? these answers tend to convert much better. 3. Starts ups have a chance here in ways they didn't with SEO. AEO allows faster entry because the “bar” is different (less domain and backlink authority needed). 4. Tactics that are working: good help-center content, Reddit comments and YouTube. SEO feels like email… still important, but no longer the only game in town
