Have you ever met someone from the Fediverse in person to do something together?
I don't mean at a Fediverse-related event. If you have, I'd be curious to hear what kind of activity brought you together.
I've seen people from other social media platforms organize offline activities and meetups, Facebook and Instagram (Meta), Orkut (Google), and Twitter (now X), and I'm curious whether this happens through the Fediverse too.
Please, boost to find more activities, if any.

You can find a lot of Fediverse people at BarCamps or events like re:publica. Quite often other interests overlap too.
@everton137 Went to Stuttgart to a Fediverse Meetup two times.
Also visited someones cool little company and we have regular talks with a third person outside Fediverse, to boost us. (I won't tag them because I haven't asked them, maybe they will tag themselves). :)
Very nice to see all the Fediverse impact that your question revealed.
@everton137 We started an entire non-profit (@erpu)!! Went from interacting casually here on Mastodon to having hundreds of members all over Europe advocating for better #CrossBorderRail … and yes, also meeting up in person for events and just to chat.
@redjives @everton137 Same, went from discovering #CrossBorderRail to posting about train trips, to meeting the legendary @jon as he was traveling by, and meeting more and more folks of @erpu as opportunities happened 🙃 Very organic community building!
@everton137 two examploes: a) making music together and recording songs for an album.
b) being invited to play an organ recital.
@everton137 We happened to attend the same event, so we had a drink together.

@everton137 Met folks at conferences, because we knew each other from fedi.
Had coffee/dinner/breakfast with folks I only know from here, when the circumstances of time&place aligned :)
@everton137 oh, some meetups of @SafeguardingResearch folks happened, too :)
(but only a couple of people each time, due to the international nature of our collective. A collective that wouldn't exist without the fediverse)
@everton137 Not sure if that counts, but I met up with some folks for a jam/party/mini-algorave-adjacent-thing who I interact with on here but on various other channels as well.

@everton137 Sooort of. Met someone IRL, realised we had a mutual connection on the fediverse, and then coordinated on here the next time we wanted to catch up in person.
Although there are definitely people I've encountered here that I would make an effort to meet up with if we were ever in the same city.

@everton137 I'm not sure if they'll all appreciate being tagged (probably yes, but I'll err on the side of caution). I met up with three folks from fedi at Pride marches this June. Two were fellow biklists and the other graciously helped me hand out so many stickers!
Another fedi friend and I met up for a chat and sticker exchange before I moved away from my old neighbourhood. She also lent me lockpicks, in my vain attempt to free my bike from the consequences of my own negligence 🙏🏻✨
@everton137 yes, several times:
- I posted a picture of a mural and someone recognized the place. We had a coffee together. It was nice but a bit awkward.
- I went out with a couple of friends I made here. We speak regularly outside mastodon too.
- I also attended a fedi-event with people from my instance. It was nice to put a face on some avatars.

@everton137 A couple of meetups with a larger group and a couple of times meeting a one or two persons. All very sensible meetings, nothing extreme or romantic involved.
