Yes. Kind Mastodonian who doesn't even follow me came and helped me out of a serious bind when Icelandair destroyed my suitcase on the first leg of a long flight (I'm disabled...hard to move with broken suitcase wheels).

Another kind Mastodonian helped me when there was no accessible way to get across railroad tracks to my hotel and back. They picked me up and we also hung out at a café talking for hrs.

Also at #Spezi2026 , where Fediverse folks also like "funny bikes". Hopefully I can afford to attend next year and we can have another meetup.

@everton137 My landlord had my water and sewer shut off (probables with the whole building, everyone's got shut off) and when it would be turned back on kept getting delayed and it was Friday and I whined on here about how it was awful and someone said "hey my wife says it's cool if you want to come crash in the guest room and use our shower and toilet". And so I made some in person friends that Saturday, though the "activity" was mostly sitting around their living room and making fun of stuff on TV. Also cooking some stuff. None of us are very exciting people.

@everton137 I met my best friend at a furry convention last year (it was after a Fediverse meetup, which we both attended) and we did several things together in VRChat over time. This year I met her again at the same con IRL and after that I visited her to attend Pride in her home town.

I went to a Mastodon meetup in my city and met a nice woman there. A few weeks later, we went out for lunch together. 🙂

@everton137 I met @tek at a showing of the movie “Hackers” at a south of market club once… years ago. It was a bit surreal and cool.
