Isn't the 130 billion in the Russian Sovereign Wealth Fund just a debt owed to Ukraine because of the damage the russian invasion has inflicted on Ukraine? The EU is functioning as a jury and has found Russia owes this money as restitution to Ukraine. When a criminal, whether an individual or a nation, commits a crime - holding them accountable is not theft but justice. The EU is a great ally of Ukraine, but it is time for the perpetrator, not the EU, to pay. #Ukraine

@JeffreySmith @noelreports the point is, and I'm not saying I would make the same judgement, that belgium fears it may become more costly for Europe when losing trust on the international market. Consider you're a #chinese big company: do you invest your billions in #EU, knowing that your money may be confiscated when your government decides to invade Taiwan? This is the complication, which is significant. I'm happy I don't have to decide.
