Still a few days to go in the Month of LibreOffice, November 2025! Tell us why you use #LibreOffice (with the hashtag) and we'll add you to this page, so you can claim a sticker pack at the end: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Badges/2025-11 #foss #openSource #freesoftware

@libreoffice I use #LibreOffice because it is cross platform, doesn't need an account to log in, and is very stable.
Several times in the past I have used it to open Microsoft Word documents that were "corrupted" and Word couldn't open them itself, but LibreOffice Writer could!

It also supports an amazing number of file formats, and I have used to amend PDF files without needing an expensive copy of Adobe Acrobat to do simple changes.

There's none of that AI rubbish or annoying prompts trying to get you to upgrade to pointless newer versions.

❤️

@libreoffice I use #LibreOffice because I can save my documents to my own computer. I also like its interoperability and how it doesn't force LLMs on you.

@libreoffice
I use LibreOffice because I don't want to make Bill Gates any richer.
It's also much easier to use. I love the clean, comprehensive user interface.
Last but not least, interoperability is a huge advantage compared to Microsoft Office.

@libreoffice It's easy enough. I use #LibreOffice because I dislike intensely being tied to a corporate sales machine that wants to monetise my every blink, that over complicates their stuff with bloat and that tries to make my pattern of work fit how they want it to function at this current time, due to the marketing dept whims. And overcharge by pushing us to a rental model.

@libreoffice I use #LibreOffice because it’s a fully functional, free and compatible alternative to the bloated MS office. Your documents are yours. There is no AI being forced on you. Also, the level of interface customisation is great. Quick and easy to install and use.

@libreoffice I use Libre office to 'stick it to the man.'
To be a part of reclaiming the digital commons, to avoid AI, to protect data sovereignty, reduce exposure to enshitification...
But fundamentally, if you will, to roll with the Rebel Alliance and take down the Imperial Forces 🙂

@libreoffice It’s powerful enough to replace Microsoft Office.

Only gripe: no vertical alignment in Writer.

@240185 Thanks! Re: vertical alignment, you can submit enhancement requests here: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org – But of course, we're a volunteer-driven project with very limited resources. To get the feature more quickly, you can consider helping our volunteers, or funding a developer. Thank you ☺️👍
