Looking for basic #smallweb #static #hosting
- EU based
- on green servers
- preferably offered by a #NonProfit / #Coop
- deployment via git or ssh

Something like #Codeberg / #Gitlab / #Github pages.

I like Codeberg pages but its future is uncertain and its documentation lacking.

Please no Vercel / Netlify / Firebase / ... suggestions please. EU. Non-profit.

Much obliged!

@jpoesen Not sure about the business model behind https://grebedoc.dev/, but I heard rumors that the software might end up drive codeberg.page (and through that make codeberg pages a stable service), which would sidestep the "who runs that service" issue by putting it back in the codeberg basket.

@jpoesen
For Corvus Co-op we're using a combo of Codeberg and WebArchitects.

I guess we could've used git.coop (which is run by WebArchitects)- any reason we went for Codeberg instead @petrichor ?

@da5nsy @jpoesen Mainly because the decision to use codeberg predates you telling me about Web Architects by about 6 months 😂

But also you need to join Web Architects as a member to get a git.coop account

Fair!

(I am now a WebArch member, if we want to use git.coop for anything just LMK)

If you speak French, @ouvaton looks like an interesting cooperatively run hosting provider for basic (CMS) services, mail, and NextCloud.

Quite entrenched in the French Free/Libre Software movement too. Great to see.
