Any simplification shall not affect perfectly functioning GDPR regulations. If the businesses and their intentions are legit, so far the GDPR was never a burdon or obstacle for growth, it was the opposite - legal foundation of trust and high standards, therefore a business catalyst

Bad move. I'm sick and tired of having my photography, artwork and writing (journal articles, technical translations) as well as private data grabbed by big tech without my consent and without recompense to train their models while my livelihood gets increasingly undermined. Never mind getting served unwanted AI slop at every corner and any investment-intensive private energy savings attempts for the sake of the planet getting undermined by a flood of energy-guzzling data centres.

Btw you're only doing it because you're basically caving in to the fucking lobbyist cunts and profits are more important to you than the safety and privacy of your own citizens that you're going to throw under the bus. @EUCommission What AI innovation require to simplify the rules ? Training an LLMs on copyrighted data or private personal information is not an innovation. Instead we need to raise the bar to ensure AI company don't abuse any of our digital rights.

If anything, enforce it better. Punish every single publisher pushing a "subscribe or accept cookies" model. Impose a clear, simple format for cookie banners, eg prohibiting making big, bright green buttons for accepting cookies and tiny, little, almost invisible ones to reject them. Or prohibit making infinite cookie banners where we have to deselect dozens of single entries to turn down every single cookie. Promote sustainable online advertising based on likely interest (eg show me ads for vacuum cleaners on a vacuum cleaner review website) instead of cookies tracking when I go take a dump in order to present me toilet paper ads.
Noone wants this creepy surveillance, for god's sake.
