Simplicity is on Europe’s digital menu 🍪

Our new Digital Package could save businesses €5 billion by 2029 and boost AI-driven innovation.

Here’s how ↓

📘 Simplified rules on AI, cybersecurity and data
📈 Data Union Strategy to support AI leadership
📱European Business Wallet to cut red-tape and facilitate cross-border operations

By simplifying digital rules, we can lower costs and unlock innovation – all while safeguarding privacy, fairness, and security.

@EUCommission This is the worst political advertising I've ever seen. I agree with the central thesis that tracking cookies bad, advertising bad, analytics...bad? ok

but your photo depicts the bad stuff as tasty chocolate chip cookies. and the ethical choice as bland biscuits.

just a mild observation, and i'm basically memeing at this point, but u do u. thx

@EUCommission "simplified rules on AI, cybersecurity and data" What a weird way to say the EU Parliament is selling EU citizens out to big U.S. tech companies. Allowing generative AI to eat all our data, monetize and profile us. And taking away the very cybersecurity that would prevent this.

I'm sick and tired of having my photography, artwork and writing (journal articles, technical translations) as well as private data grabbed by big tech without my consent and without recompense to train their models while my livelihood gets increasingly undermined. Never mind getting served unwanted AI slop at every corner and any investment-intensive private energy savings attempts for the sake of the planet getting undermined by a flood of energy-guzzling data centres.

Even worst, Chat Control is a criminal act on level of despocies like China or ruSSia. It won't solve child abuse, but it'll be misused by authoritative governments like in Hungary to suppress opposition. And then will be always way how to bypass. So ❗ https://fightchatcontrol.eu ‼️
So, please, do something useful. Look e.g. at Draghi's report and start working on restoring Europe's power. Thank You in advance.

The GDPR as is is fine!
If anything, enforce it better. Punish every single publisher pushing a "subscribe or accept cookies" model. Impose a clear, simple format for cookie banners, eg prohibiting making big, bright green buttons for accepting cookies and tiny, little, almost invisible ones to reject them. Or prohibit making infinite cookie banners where we have to deselect dozens of single entries to turn down every single cookie. Promote sustainable online advertising based on likely interest (eg show me ads for vacuum cleaners on a vacuum cleaner review website) instead of cookies tracking when I go take a dump in order to present me toilet paper ads.
Noone wants this creepy surveillance, for god's sake.
Not even you. No wonder you'd exempt yourselves from any form of chat control.

@EUCommission You’re giving a green light to corporations to use our sensitive data, like e.g. health data for data mining. You’re also set on bringing back chat control through the backdoor, and you’re significantly weakening the GDPR. That’s not a win. That’s cow towing to the tech fascists.
