Many years ago, I came across something called the 'Vice Fund', a fund that invested in tobacco, alcohol, and guns. They had some numbers that showed that they tended to do really well when the overall market went down, and have slightly worse returns than average when the market was doing well.

If I could find them again, I'd probably invest...

What a rabbit-hole.

It turns out there are several of these "vice funds". Some include gaming, which I think is in keeping with my broader view of including junk-food and gambling.

Genius. I can easily see this genre outperforming the market during a downturn.

Now I just need to learn how to buy a stock and/or share (although for the record I do tend toward the views of Maynard Keynes and Bogle on the subject of share prices).
