As long as you are even thinking about these kind of orwellian methods you are completely untrustworthy when it comes to justice and law In fact you would be one of its greatest enemies when that proposal becomes reality.

The proposed totalitarian mass surveillance (aka "chat control") is the opposite of "trustworthy" or "democratic".

It's an invitation for criminal elements to exploit the back doors mandated by that surveillance act.

In a "just" EU, this wouldn't even be discussed as it opposes all values the EU (tries to) stand for.

It turns every EU citizen into a suspect without due cause.

Having an exemption for politicians makes this even less trustworthy.

Cooperation between the countries in the EU is good. But I also still believe the most important investment would be in prevention, education and in social support to solve the original problems before any crimes happen. Then we wouldn't need topics like the chat control, which is at the current technological level more harmful than helpful, could give many innocent people a bad feeling of the EU and could also move companies and startups away from EU. It sounds like a way of repression of problems. I can't believe this is intended.
