There are 2 more notable German pioneer servers: edi.social and det.social run by the production company of a German TV show (https://www.zdf.de/shows/zdf-magazin-royale-102). They are named after 2 of ZDF's TV mascots (https://www.zdf.de/animation/mainzelmaennchen-108) and the servers were created before zdf.social entered the scene.
edi.social hosts employees' accounts and the TV show's social media account, while det.social was created as a community instance to help with the general infrastructure.
@gunchleoc so I understand it correctly... edi.social is operated by /and/ is an official social channel for Unterhaltungsfernsehen Ehrenfeld - correct?
@jaz Correct. The TV program is at @zdfmagazin and they are mostly active on BlueSky these days, but the host @janboehm is still around and posting.
