I've heard today is Poets' Day.
Some little bird had that to say.
And so, with words, forsooth, I'll play,
Though blurred my eyes, with hair that's gray.
Tomorrow comes a different vibe,
Breadcrumbs dropped on every side.
Music, hums or wave-crash tide
Voicing sums of mathkind's pride.
On knoll or dell, or peak severe,
The roll continues through the year.
The pealing bell tolls, loud and clear,
The poet's soul is ever here.
It's Poet's Day!

Wisps
just drift –
low clouds
along the edge
of the lake
where the two of us wait –
wondering
what this day might make
