Trump tells a room full of leaders in Davos that the US stock market crashed because he is trying to take…

Iceland.

Time for another cognitive test, I guess.

The Emperor's New Clothes (Odense): Keld Moseholm's (1936 -) sculpture is based on the fairy tale “The Emperors new Clothes” and you can almost hear the small boy yelling "But he hasn't got anything on", as the emperor looks at himself in the mirror.

@randahl Pathetic, pompous idiot & lyin' king caught on camera in front of world leaders.

'If you're sitting in a hole, stop digging' (Sorry, that was Donald, but Rumsfeld)

Take the NATO Treaty and seriously whack Donnie on the forehead with that until the blood squirts! The beatings will continue until morale improves.

Who was there for whom when Article 5 of the NATO charter was invoked for the first time in history? Did this Donald ever say 'Thank you'?

NATO invoked Article 5 for the first and only time in its history after the 9/11 terrorist attacks against the United States in 2001.

He wouldn’t be able to tell really. Somebody in the administration could say they took some tiny rock out in the middle of the Atlantic and call it Iceland or Greenland and he wouldn’t know the difference.

@randahl After 9-11, the UK Canada, Germany, France, Italy, and the Netherlands deployed combat forces to assist the US response. Afghanistan became the largest and longest NATO operation in history. All 18 non-US nations in NATO contributed to the effort in some way.
.
I guess they were there for us.

@randahl Anyone who believes a single word that comes out of this moron's mouth is a moron too. He should be locked in a box with no view or access to the outside world.
We should also consider the possibility that "Iceland" may have been a Freudian slip.- f the US were to "acquire" Greenland, it would pose a huge security risk to Iceland, and Canada, and Europe as they will be next o the menu. One cannot ignore the parallels between Trump and Hitler. The only real danger to all of us is the US

Neanderthal atavism disorder. At 74, I'm more and more convinced that some individuals of the human species have kept genetic traits from the Neanderthal era, which make them dangerous grifting cripples who can't help but hurt everyone, break everything, bring horror and disaster around them, because they just crave the sensations power brings.

@randahl Is there no one in that room capable of pointing out that the ONE time Article 5 has been invoked it was by the US, and NATO was there to help them out?

Just shout "LIAR!" at him, and don't stop until that orange idiot shuts the fuck up and slides off the stage back into his care home.

I believe there is a totalitarianism translation to that. Arendt explained that Hitler or Stalin were accusing the world of the mischief they were about to do.

So you can understand Trump's belief that NATO will not be behind the US means that he will not going to help NATO.

And about stock market, it is a threat. He is boasting that he just proved that he is the most powerful guy in the room because he can make the market to crash and he's not afraid to do so.

Poor, poor Lady Karoline Leavitt. How she must regret not having taken Creative Writing 101. It would have saved her much scouring of the Internet to think up lies about what the president really said.

I'd suggest him to give just a piece of #desert in return ... that's called ... um ... #California 🏜️

That's not a big thing to ask. And the stock market ... you know ...

We don't - for now - not really know whether he'll be there to support #Nato .

Thank you for your attention in this matter!

NATO responds collectively when a member state is attacked, not when a member state causes a war itself. And even then, there were coalition members, including NATO members, who nevertheless helped the Americans on the basis of WMDs that were never found, or 9/11 -- Afghanistan, or the War on Terror, etc. To say that there were no allies is nothing short of American drama. Big crocodile tears.

In Finnish healthcare a protocol to check if one not lost memory or too confused, there is a series of questions, including "who is the present president". Might be a valid test there also.

And they are not amuse in Reykjavik.
Especially since next US ambassador to Iceland, Billy Long, recently made headlines for having joked about the fact that Iceland could soon become the 52nd American state - Greenland being the 51st -, of which he would be the governor.
Enough to provoke the fury of the Icelanders: this Wednesday, more than 5000 people had signed a petition demanding his departure.

Another one who should be persona non grata in Europe
