Sad to see this happening: #Google will now publish #AOSP only in Q2 and Q4, instead of every quarter before. See the note on https://source.android.com (thanks to @grote for the ping) #FreeSoftware #OpenSource

Screenshot with policy change: "Effective in 2026, to align with our trunk stable development model and ensure platform stability for the ecosystem, we will publish source code to AOSP in Q2 and Q4. For building and contributing to AOSP, we recommend utilizing android-latest-release instead of aosp-main. The android-latest-release manifest branch will always reference the most recent release pushed to AOSP. For more information, see Changes to AOSP."

@kirschner @opensourceopenmind @grote The android integration is pretty good. I can even run my banking app as well as some gym membership and transit apps.

@kirschner @opensourceopenmind @grote I have been using android apps on my FLX1 without much issues. There are still some rough edges with audio and video. I have to restart android container to get audio calls working on monocles chat. NewPipe had some issues but FreeTube works natively. I use this phone as my daily driver (no android backup phone). The second phone I have is Librem 5.

It's great, actually.
F-droid apps work great as far as I installed software from it.
Aurora too.

@kirschner @grote Depends what Android apps - FOSS apps from F-Droid or Obtainium should run without issue. There's a good review recently by @one_with_linux:
