Cloudflare, GitHub, AWS, Azure are also US companies. They can be forced to boot you or your company out too.
We need better European services. But we’re talking about an existential risk here. Org leaders must create the demand for such services.
@thibaultamartin The EU needs to realise that all USA companies are liable to follow instructions from the orange rapist. So bank transfers, credit cards, hotel chains (not to mention the functioning of high tech weapons) and other essential services can be cut off at a whim. The EU must put in place the infrastructure needed to manage without USA support. Sadly it is now critical and urgent.
@thibaultamartin are there not quite some initiatives in the EU or by member countries? For example Germany develops #OpenDesk, there is also a French initiative I forgot the name of and something in the Netherlands.
We definitely need to better communicate about these initiatives and share successes.
For banking, there seems to be #Wero which is rather new, but maybe we should just use it.
