Allright! Now for the intermission.
If you can't decide which of these you'd like to watch, you can catch a rotating assortment of them on the current New Ellijay Television livestream.
We're about halfway through "Murder!" right now.

If you're seeing my #publicDomain work, or seeing #NETV #NewEllijayTelevision for the first time, or even if you're already familiar with what we do and the ideas behind #communityMedia let me take this moment to make a small pitch:
New Ellijay Television needs advertisers to keep it going. Let me advertise your art project, indie website, small business, album, or other thing.
We'll stick you up on the Sponsor section of NewEllijay.News and run your 30 second spot at least 4x a day on our live stream and our cable network.
If you're not making much/any money on the thing you make, but you just want to get the word out, I'll run the ad for free.
If you're making money on the thing, and you want to get the word out to make more money, our packages for fedifolks start at $50/month.
Let's talk.
Alternately, if you like seeing our stuff but you don't want to/don't need to/can't afford to advertise with us, consider some other ways of helping us keep going:
Direct sponsorship: https://newellijay.tv/sponsor-us/
Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/c/ajroach42
Toys: https://mountaintowntoys.com
Books: https://hemlockbazaar.com
Games: https://ajroach42.itch.io/
Very infrequent newsletter: https://buttondown.com/ajroach42
Or just tell people about what we've got going on. Boost a post or two. It goes a long way.
Alright! I have several more newly public domain movies and some cartoons transcoding away right now.
While those are running, I'm going to talk about some older #publicDomain materials on #NewEllijayTelevision
First up Protéa (1913). This is a french spy film from the early 1910s that is absolutely wacky. For decades the only circulating copy was like 22 minutes long and incomprehensible.
Now we've got nearly an hour of the original, and the full story can be followed!
There was originally a series of Protéa films, and probably also novels? It's hard to say for certain because I don't speak french.
But yeah, looks like this character was pretty popular for a hot minute before the first world war.
there were 4 other films, also looked up the info about the writer/director but couldn't find any reference to novels..
Here's "Rescued in Mid Air" which is a special effects/trick photography film from 1906 about a woman who is stranded on top of a church, who gets rescued! In Mid Air! by her wacky neighbor. It's very silly!
@ajroach42 I followed everything except the randomly crashing through some people's roof part.
Up next some Marx brothers.
Animal Crackers is their first good movie.

Alright, that's enough of a word from our sponsors. I'll be back in a while with more newly public domain material.
