The Nordics and the Baltic countries finance another $500 million package for Ukraine.

Trump's America finances $0 because defending freedom is not important like building a ballroom.

@randahl the nonsense will end eventually, one way or another. We may need help from our far away friends though.

@randahl When will European be able to spend their money on EUROPEAN products and services, including weapons. F..k the US, they're NOT reliable partners and their dream is a nightmare. Let's wake up.

@thierry_van_kerm in a globalized world, no country produces everything itself. We could of course invent a competitor to US patriot missiles, but this takes years of development.

So that may be a sound long term strategy, but here and now we do not have a choice for all weapons types.

@randahl It makes sense but let's move toward an independent long term strategy. NATO will collapse at some point and Europe has to avoid being naked when it happens

@thierry_van_kerm I too hope that is the plan. But most likely, some European politicians are still living on the hope that Trump will be stopped at the US midterm elections in November 2026.

Not to mention, European companies could have less incentive to develop weapons, if they still think Trump is a temporary problem.

@randahl Trump or not, we have to be independent from the US. They are not reliable and they have far too much power and their way of life is so bad for people and for our planet.
