@mina turns out it's some kind of ride where you sit in a big inner tube or something, and they spin you and you slide down. There's a beer garden at the bottom, I assume as the evening progresses some patrons will be unable to stop themselves and take a spinny ride.

I pity whoever has to clean the slope tomorrow...

@jaz OPEN DATA
The end of the Cold War in 1990 plunged the intelligence community into an identity crisis - if there were no more enemies, did we really need spies anymore? The emergence of new threats especially after 11 September 2001 made clear that not only did we still need spies, but that they had not always proven successtul in recent times. 1/3

@jaz Counter-terrorism agencies have considerable legal powers and new digital methods with which to gather information about ordinary citizens. Indeed a recent crop of whistle-blowers have shown how far spies actually go in order to carry out their work and which laws they break. Whether investigating allied powers or even their own citizens there seems to be little that intelligence services will not do. 2/3

@jaz I like the banner missions, so visiting a new town or city always includes at least one day of full-on hacking!

I’m currently regretting doing that single mission in Llangollen, which is messing up my mission page, and there’s nothing available locally to fill up the row…

My “Mission Medals” page in Ingress, showing where a single mission completed while visiting an old haunt of mine top left) has pushed my otherwise tidy collection of badges into a slightly off-kilter arrangement which upsets me every time I see it

@malte @bmaxv I was thinking I might finally try in-ear pods, I mostly use an Android phone and I've always done over-ear, but it's a big item to pack and if I had something smaller it would have been in my satchel and not hiding where ever I left it in the hotel. Media Markt looks good, as does the Technikmuseum, I will add these to the list.

Thank you!
