It's so deeply demoralizing to notice that your kid, who thought he was researching #DnD info online, was reading #AI slop & stuck in a "Google App pretending to be a browser" silo where AI results are the default & most prominent.

Now I get to be the mom who's swimming against the riptide trying to teach my kids how to dodge AI crap to get real information, when "everyone uses it".

I became a #WebDev because I loved #tech & the promise of the web. But now I hate what it's become.

It's not enough to disable #Chrome & install @Vivaldi ... now I have to figure what to do about Every damn Google app pretending to be a browser & shoving AI results into what used to be internet search.

Who needs the knowledge of other humans, just give me a plausible facsimile right?

People think a cool part of #parenting is that you get to teach kids your various philosophies in life. But the truth is, that even as a SAHM for many years & even now a parent who only works when the kids are at school.... I still barely have time for deeper topics than teaching them to be decent people. And the older they get, the more those lessons matter but the less influence a parent has.

This already feels like it's going to be an embarrassing "mom's so old fashioned" thing.
