Hike this morning, with a fair bit of bushwhacking following new streams and interesting colors. Efts were everywhere.
Let's start with some fungi.

Violet toothed polypore. A striped light tan mushroom on side of old tree trunk that turns to violet on the edges and then a lighter, almost white outline.

Newly emerged button mushrooms out of side of rotting log. Maybe an alder scalycap?

Cerrena? A very interesting texture and coloring with a little green “forest” of fuzz on top of the fungus while underneath is a frilly/textured white.

Bright yellow almost see-thru golden jelly fungus on a downed branch next to clumps of moss and maybe a bit of lichen.

Next up: frogs, flowers, and ferns. The two frogs I saw in lake didn't look totally reconstituted yet. Ferns are still popping out of ground and unwinding, and there's a lot more flowers now.

Some oddities and a token Eft.

A tree with yellow blazes, two somewhat contradictory looking directional arrows, but more importantly it looks like a face

Log laying on ground, hole in the side with bright green moss lining the edge and a red eft right next to it looking like it’s going to climb to the top

Been seeing a lot of these lately, trees that have had bark scratched or peeled off on one side, usually with claw type marks on the underlying wood. My guess is bear.

An old thick trunk tree with some red shelf mushrooms near the bottom and a whole bunch of woodpecker holes going up the tree. On the ground are slivers of wood from all of the pecking.

Last one: short video of Winter Wren singing along a random spot in the woods while bushwhacking.

video looking in woods without any trails, just moss and leaves on ground, we pan to the tree tops in time to hear a Wren sing up high in the branches, then pan back down to look at stump with a new tree growing out of it.
