A Translate Science book club?

We're considering creating a Translate Science book club. The idea would be to choose a popular science book and invite one or more *translators* of the book to join us online for a book club style discussion, including their insights from translating scientific content in the book.

We're thinking books like Lab Girl by Hope Jahren, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot, or something by Ed Yong or Mary Roach.

First, what do you, our Translate Science community, think of this idea?

Second, if it appeals to you, what books would you suggest?

Third, maybe some of you translate popular science books! Or maybe you know people who do. If you do, we'd love to hear from you and will keep you in mind if the book club materializes.

@mattblaze I did a similar split talk at Black Hat around the same time with someone else who violently disagreed (and still disagrees) with me but respected the time allotments. I bear her no ill will and like to think we’re still friends because it’s a rough-and-tumble world and people are entitled to have strongly felt opinions.*
