@hacks4pancakes It's a shame too, cause a good systemic issue breakdown makes a HUGE impact when it comes to getting through to me as an untrusting reader. It's the difference between "You repeat what others say" and "Oh so here are your values and foundation. Maybe I can decide to trust you?"
#dtv
Too many people see ethics as an opinion, rather than a commitment.

I quite literally could not care any less about Harry and Mhehghan. They are the Kardashians to me. Not real people. Nothing they ever do will ever have any impact on my life, other than to momentarily make me have to scroll a bit quicker. I wish them all the very best. Or the worst. Or in between. Or not at all. It doesn't matter.

The Story of Change (2012) (short film about how activism can be effective)
The Color of Space: Stories of Inspiration from Black NASA Astronauts (2022)
i think removing the hard drive and RAM seem valid and that processes should be sharing as little as possible in order to avoid that sort of attack
the whole concept of checking an OS for safety by hash is just completely flawed because who sets the hash to check?????
poettering was linked in the wikipedia article on disk encryption (which is a farce) https://0pointer.net/blog/authenticated-boot-and-disk-encryption-on-linux.html i think the entire concept of checking an OS by hash from the BIOS seems flawed, because you can presumably just override the BIOS to accept a new hash. furthermore any physical security mechanism seems flawed if we're talking about removing the hard drive and reinserting it--presumably you could also reprogram the motherboard to capture keypresses as well
