Looking at sliding door wardrobes to try to decide if I fix my current open wardrobe, do the insane thing of trying to DIY it somehow, or replace it.
And given the prices for options that are nearly all too big for the space I have, DIY is looking appealing. Problem is, I don't see an easy way to do that either.
You'd think there would be more and better options for this, and yet. (Another option would be to replace the thin plastic pipes that make up the structure of the current wardrobe with hardwood dowel of a similar diameter, but I don't know how I'd make all the corners work, plus I don't think it'd be any better at holding up to the amount of stuff that has to go in there.)

As I am missing a few followers in my instance move, it is with an actual purpose that I say:

Torvalds was quite clear that he would entertain no patches addressing theoretical problems.

That said, nobody felt the need to defend the simple PRNG that underlies
prandom_u32()now; the door is clearly open to replacing it outright if a suitable alternative can be found. That alternative would have to be something that does not make guessing its internal state so easy, but it would also have to retain the performance characteristics of the current implementation. Torvalds has proclaimed that he will not accept a replacement that slows things down.

The c-DLSE Assumption is not as widely studied as the regular discrete log assumption so it needs to be handled with care. However, it seems a reasonable assumption to make.

Looking across the 'Bay of Deception' towards Beinn Alligin.
After leading the ActivityPub Trust & Safety taskforce – the group trying to improve trust & safety of the protocol – for two years, I've decided to step down as lead, and also exit the Social Web Community Group entirely. (I remain in the Social Web Working Group as an Invited Expert, but I'm not currently participating)
That taskforce is now seeking a new leader or co-leads, more info at: https://github.com/swicg/activitypub-trust-and-safety/issues/135
This was a decision I needed to make for my well-being and with respect to my time and energy, and it was one I deliberated on for several months. It was not an easy decision.
All my current supporters also received an email the other night with this news, such that they could decide whether or not they want to continue financially supporting my work.
What I will continue working on is open source trust & safety technology and other parts of the open social web, as well as contributing to open source software in general.
@thisismissem Emelia you've given so much of yourself to this network, I'm glad to hear you're putting yourself and your health first - so many have benefited from your selfless and exhausting input, and whatever you're doing next I"m sure it will be just as impactful!

@csolisr I really need to set up a weekly poker game for Republicans and me, where I just endlessly fleece them out of their money because they are such terrible liars, and they are always lying.
