@psychicparrot42 I always wondered whether if we could accumulate 10-20 launches of smaller games, still getting scraps but x10-20 scraps per month, as a little money source.
Like Orange Pascal (but I think he probably gets a bit more than just "scraps" in a few of his games) https://store.steampowered.com/developer/orangepixel/ - he has 19 Steam titles!
@alfredbaudisch I have 6 games on Steam, 3 on Xbox. If it wasn't for my Xbox games, most months I wouldn't make anything at all. Xbox is a steady income, Steam is bullshit and only generates anything during discounts and sales (which says a lot about the Steam community!). Lots of different streams is def. the way to go, but building up to enough streams to make an income and then maintaining them can be a lot of work. Especially constantly changing platforms like mobile/iOS.
@Heidentweet @villebooks anyone with an active @gazaverified link has been verified as actually being in Gaza via IP address and a video call with either @aral or @casey . There is a coordinated disinformation claim going on to discredit all Gazan sources of information by saying there is no internet access in Gaza. This is not the case, I'm not saying everyone claiming to be in Gaza anywhere on the internet is, but anyone who is #GazaVerified definitely is and spreading the idea that there is no internet access in Gaza is just helping the Zionist propaganda narrative designed to discredit any reporting going on from there

Well, well, well, I KNEW that the hounding of Arday was gonna get connected back to the TESCREAL bozos somehow. See this "paper" by the guy who hired Cofnas at Ghent University.
Reminder "dysgenic" is the opposite of "eugenic," they mean Black people and other undesirables reproducing too much.
Reminder, the L in TESCREAL is for "longtermism."

“thank you Meta!” is the kind of thing you chisel into a stone slab underneath “we considered ourselves an open source community”

@sinbad the problem is that after being forced to use at work is that it's addicting. Because some of them now are *REALLY* good.
Ex: 12 years of frontend work, 1M lines, many different patterns, 200+ different libraries, old versions, and I refactored everything, in ONE try, in a week, almost no mistakes made by the robots.
JS + one of the 1st React/Redux versions -> now it's TS, newest React, etc, and it "understood" and kept the whole semantics and it was *perfect*, in a single try.
@sinbad one month later, 1000s of customers, not a single bug/crash. This was not a simply "rewrite from JS to TS", it needed deeper understanding of the semantics, business logic and also upgrade dependency chains (web dev is hell), while moving from 12 year old patterns to new patterns.
Pemberton’s own contribution comprised a demonstration of the diagnostic process. After handing over £1,200 for a private online assessment, he triumphantly reported that he had (almost instantaneously) been diagnosed with ADHD
If you pay me £1,200 (and sign a disclaimer that acknowledges that you are not receiving medical advice), I will diagnose you with a broken leg. This conclusively proves that broken legs are not real and therefore anyone who claims to have one is a faker.
It’s also notable that while any Daily Mail columnist may be able to pay and receive a private ADHD diagnosis for the purposes of a ‘scientific’ documentary…an NHS doctor doesn’t have to subsequently prescribe ADHD medication as a result and often won’t.
Therefore, most children have been waiting a very long time for an NHS or Right to Choose diagnosis. A private diagnosis is not massively helpful for most kids.
Citing “lived experience” as evidence something works is literally the tactic of homeopaths and antivaxxers when confronted by large-scale or structured studies disproving their claims. That this now seems to be the go-to argument of the pro-“AI” crowd is a huge red flag.
day two of using my degoogled phone as my daily driver, and the world has not imploded.

I was on a podcast!
Me and @brad_frost woke up excited and talked about our shared love for music, web, accessibility, and AI sustainability.

An explanation of why we resumed posting on X, and what comes next:
@viticci I’m sorry, values matter, please do not give the digital equivalent of a “nazi bar” a reason to exist, and instead, let it crash. Your content is too good for that platform.
