@alfredbaudisch I have 6 games on Steam, 3 on Xbox. If it wasn't for my Xbox games, most months I wouldn't make anything at all. Xbox is a steady income, Steam is bullshit and only generates anything during discounts and sales (which says a lot about the Steam community!). Lots of different streams is def. the way to go, but building up to enough streams to make an income and then maintaining them can be a lot of work. Especially constantly changing platforms like mobile/iOS.

There is a coordinated disinformation claim going on to discredit all Gazan sources of information by saying there is no internet access in Gaza. This is not the case, I'm not saying everyone claiming to be in Gaza anywhere on the internet is, but anyone who is #GazaVerified definitely is and spreading the idea that there is no internet access in Gaza is just helping the Zionist propaganda narrative designed to discredit any reporting going on from there

Strong longtermism maintains that how we should act morally is determined almost entirely by the expected effects on the welfare of our descendants existing thousands if not millions of years into the future, who might include both other humans and any artificial agents with a comparable or higher moral status that we end up creating. This chart compares the observed height differences between husbands and wives in U.S. heterosexual couples from 1999 to 2023 with the distribution that would be expected if people paired randomly regardless of height. The horizontal axis shows the difference in height between partners in inches, with negative values indicating the wife is taller and positive values indicating the husband is taller. The pale red bars represent the expected distribution under random pairing, while the black outline shows the actual distribution observed in the data. The comparison reveals that couples in which the woman is taller than the man occur significantly less often than chance alone would predict, while pairings where the man is moderately taller are more common than expected. Very large height differences are also slightly less frequent than a random model would suggest. The findings indicate that partner selection is not random with respect to height and that there is a strong preference, whether conscious or unconscious, for relationships in which the man is taller than the woman. This pattern is consistent with previous research on assortative mating, showing that social preferences and dating behaviour influence partner choice beyond what would be expected from the height distribution of the population alone.

@sinbad the problem is that after being forced to use at work is that it's addicting. Because some of them now are *REALLY* good.

Ex: 12 years of frontend work, 1M lines, many different patterns, 200+ different libraries, old versions, and I refactored everything, in ONE try, in a week, almost no mistakes made by the robots.

JS + one of the 1st React/Redux versions -> now it's TS, newest React, etc, and it "understood" and kept the whole semantics and it was *perfect*, in a single try.

@sinbad one month later, 1000s of customers, not a single bug/crash. This was not a simply "rewrite from JS to TS", it needed deeper understanding of the semantics, business logic and also upgrade dependency chains (web dev is hell), while moving from 12 year old patterns to new patterns.

It’s also notable that while any Daily Mail columnist may be able to pay and receive a private ADHD diagnosis for the purposes of a ‘scientific’ documentary…an NHS doctor doesn’t have to subsequently prescribe ADHD medication as a result and often won’t.

Therefore, most children have been waiting a very long time for an NHS or Right to Choose diagnosis. A private diagnosis is not massively helpful for most kids.

Citing “lived experience” as evidence something works is literally the tactic of homeopaths and antivaxxers when confronted by large-scale or structured studies disproving their claims. That this now seems to be the go-to argument of the pro-“AI” crowd is a huge red flag.
